Wesley Lewis, M.D.
Dr. Lewis is board certified in Otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. His practice includes the medical and surgical management of both children and adults. His practice is about one-third pediatric, a population with which he loves to work. He strives to provide caring, compassionate service with a sense of humor and expertise.
He went to medical school and had five years of residency training at OHSU and completed an internship in general surgery at Boston University. He has taught at OHSU and has been in clinical practice in Portland for more than 20 years.
Dr. Lewis is a good listener and is interested in teaching each patient about his or her individual condition. He provides timely care that puts you and your needs first. He is not only interested in working together to address the problem, but also strives to restore health and promote wellness by working as a team with patients and their families.
In addition to general ear, nose, and throat conditions, Dr. Lewis’ professional interests include: care of the voice and vocal issues of performers, hearing loss and “surfer’s ear” and allergies and nasal and sinus disorders. He likes a challenge and enjoys seeing patients with difficult to diagnose problems.
In his free time, Dr. Lewis enjoys an active lifestyle by biking, swimming, traveling and enjoying music and art. He likes to keep up with current events and scientific discoveries, both medical and general. Most of all he’s enthusiastic, loves life and enjoys meeting new people, hearing their stories, and helping others.
Craig Hertler, M.D.
Dr. Hertler has been in practice in Portland since 1990. He completed his residency at Oregon Health Sciences University and is Board Certified in Otorlaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
While his practice includes the full scope of the specialty, he has a special interest in the cure of children with ear, nose and throat problems and the treatment of nasal and sinus conditions. Dr. Hertler is a strong believer in continuing medical education. As a result he is able to provide current and innovative treatment techniques for chronic sinus conditions, snoring and a wide range of other conditions affecting the head and neck area.
Outside of work, Dr. Hertler enjoys spending time with his family that includes two boys. Hiking, camping, mountaineering and biking are his favorite past times.
Known for his gentle touch and compassionate care, Dr. Hertler strives to deliver the highest quality care to his patients of all ages.
Maxwell Furr, M.D.
Dr. Maxwell Furr is the most recent addition to the practice. Dr. Furr grew up in western Pennsylvania. He attended Tufts University, where he received a Bachelor in Science in Biopsychology while representing the University as a NCAA Division III Varsity Soccer player. Dr. Furr completed his premedical studies at Harvard University. He attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. Dr. Furr completed his internship and residency training in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.
During his residency, Dr. Furr conducted research in wound healing, reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, and cosmetic facial plastic surgery. He also worked to describe novel ways to improve our ability to care for cleft palate patients in the third world. Dr. Furr has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and has had the honor of speaking at national specialty meetings. Most recently, Dr. Furr spent a year in Fellowship training under the direction of Dr. Harry Mittelman, a leader in facelift surgery, laser facial resurfacing, and facial implants.
Dr. Furr is Board-Eligible in the specialties of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His practice includes the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of Ear, Nose, and Throat disorders, as well as Cosmetic and Reconstructive Facial Surgery. Dr. Furr is particularly interested in the use of minimally-invasive techniques to combat aging, including laser therapy, injectables, and dermal fillers. His interests also include functional and cosmetic surgery of the nose (rhinoplasty), and prevention/treatment of skin cancers. In his free time Dr. Furr enjoys spending time with his wife, playing golf, and exploring the wilderness of Oregon and California.
